Beginner Program
When:
Monday evenings 6pm-7pm
From Monday October 20, 2025 to April 27, 2026
Where:
Royal Canadian Legion Branch 234
57 Watson Pkwy S, Guelph, ON N1L 0H8
Who can join:
1. Students that are 18 and under who have an interest in learning to play the bagpipes, snare drum, tenor drum or bass drum. No experience required
2. Previous graduate of our beginner program. Based on signups, beginner program graduates will receive instruction appropriate for their level during the 6-7pm time slot OR during the 7-8pm time-slot.
What do you get:
- Professional group instruction from qualified instructors
- Print materials and audio and video supplementary materials where required
- Loaner practice equipment
- Parade and performance opportunities once appropriate playing level is achieved
Who is instructing:
A team of experienced instructors and members of the Guelph Pipe Band, 2024 North American Champions and 2025 Champion Supreme Winners. All instructors and leadership members within the Guelph Pipe Band have completed a vulnerable sectors background check with their local police department.
How much:
All are welcome to attend the first four classes. After the first four classes, a payment of $250 will be due*.

Intermediate Program
When:
Monday evenings 7pm-9pm
From Monday, October 21, 2024 to Monday, May 26, 2025
Where:
Royal Canadian Legion Branch 234
57 Watson Pkwy S, Guelph, ON N1L 0H8
Who can join:
Anyone 18 with previous pipe band playing experience.
Any age musician, including:
- Graduates of the beginner program
- Players with previous pipe band experience
What do you get:
- Professional group instruction from qualified instructors
- Print materials and audio and video supplementary materials where required
- Ensemble practice time supported by instructors
- Parade, performance and competition opportunities once appropriate playing level is achieved
Who is instructing:
A team of experienced instructors and members of the Guelph Pipe Band, 2024 North American Champions and 2024 Champion Supreme Winners. All instructors and leadership members within the Guelph Pipe Band have completed a vulnerable sectors background check with their local police department.
