Beginner Program
When:
Monday evenings 6pm-7pm
From February 3rd, 2025 to Monday, May 26, 2025
Where:
Royal Canadian Legion Branch 234
57 Watson Pkwy S, Guelph, ON N1L 0H8
Who can join:
We’ve reached full capacity for piping. We are accepting beginner drumming students starting February, 2025. Students will learn the fundamentals of bass, tenor and snare drums and will have the choice of which drum they would like to continue learning in the program (Last Updated December, 2024)
Anyone 18 and under with an interest in learning to play the bagpipes, snare drum, tenor drum or bass drum. No experience required!
What do you get:
- Professional group instruction from qualified instructors
- Print materials and audio and video supplementary materials where required
- Loaner practice equipment
- Parade and performance opportunities once appropriate playing level is achieved
Who is instructing:
A team of experienced instructors and members of the Guelph Pipe Band, 2024 North American Champions and 2024 Champion Supreme Winners. All instructors and leadership members within the Guelph Pipe Band have completed a vulnerable sectors background check with their local police department.
How much:
All are welcome to attend the first four classes, absolutely free! For those students wishing to commit after that, lessons are only $10 a week*.

Intermediate Program
When:
Monday evenings 7pm-9pm
From Monday, October 21, 2024 to Monday, May 26, 2025
Where:

Who can join:
We have reached full capacity on all instruments for our intermediate program (Last Updated December 2024)
Any age musician, including:
- Graduates of the beginner program
- Players with previous pipe band experience
What do you get:
- Professional group instruction from qualified instructors
- Print materials and audio and video supplementary materials where required
- Ensemble practice time supported by instructors
- Parade, performance and competition opportunities once appropriate playing level is achieved
Who is instructing:
A team of experienced instructors and members of the Guelph Pipe Band, 2024 North American Champions and 2024 Champion Supreme Winners. All instructors and leadership members within the Guelph Pipe Band have completed a vulnerable sectors background check with their local police department.
How much:
All are welcome to attend the first four classes, absolutely free! For those students wishing to commit after that, lessons are only $10 a week*. Intermediate students have the opportunity to become full members of the Guelph Pipe Band based on recommendation from their instructors, and membership is free.
